FreedomPACS Awards Rural Health Medical Imaging Gift to Illinois Critical Access Hospital

FreedomPACS recently awarded a complete HIPAA-compliant medical PACS (picture archiving communication system), offsite storage and diagnostic viewer to Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, Ill. Valued at $45,000, the gift will allow the 25-bed facility to improve workflow and streamline patient services.

“We now have the ability to provide our cardiologist immediate access to medical images and studies stored on a server to view and compare to past images,” said Chelle Keplinger, chief financial officer of the hospital. “We have never had this ability before and it will benefit our patients.”

The Web-based medical imaging system donated by FreedomPACS includes off-site cloud storage, the ImageShare diagnostic viewer and PACS software. The gift to Massac Memorial, designated a Critical Access Hospital, represents FreedomPACS ongoing commitment to equip, serve and support the rural healthcare industry.
